Johns music inspires me so much. because of him i try playin dobro/lap slide. i put down my electric and learned real chords and open tunings other than drop d. got into folk music and away from jam bands….even helped me quite abusing drugs.
he always had a message. or a vibe that he always accomplished 2 get through. i’ve only been listening 2 him since 2004 but i’ve grown so much thanks to him.
i need some fresh music. john delivered so much with grand national, poppy enough for my girlfriend (now fiance) 2 enjoy and let me jam and way better than i expected. i bragged about that album like he was my brother.
my 21st bday i saw him in minneapolis. i got a 12string as a surprise bday present from leilani. i didnt drink ne alcohol (21 is legal age in USA) and it was the best day of my life. best concert i ever went 2 and prob ever will see.
last bday i was gonna either buy a banjo or madolin. decided 2 stick with guitar/dobro style and not suck at 2 instruments and bought recording equipment instead.

that is an awesome mic in the pic btw.

    new album. new hope.
    new chapter in my life.

    glorious exuberance

AMAZING!!! i found your trio on accident. i was meaning to find videos of the ocean, and a stumble upon the instrumental “Ocean”…and i was blown away!!! i must have listened a dozen songs on you tube that late night/morning. but i really want to thank you, yes, THANK YOU, for inspiring me. you make me realize that i CAN go outside the box, and maybe i CAN put more of the notes and quotes in my head into my songs. Lately i’ve been trying to create songs for ” mainstream radio” and it has been restraining me. I’ve been missing out on musical potential by not embracing where the music takes me. if following the flow of the music makes me lose myself, then i’ll continue to lose myself everyday, its fine, because when i finish an original song i find myself again.THANK YOU “JOHN BUTLER TRIO”…. an incredible orchestration of capturing melodies. • Dear JBtrio,

As I am a person to work (not paid for it though)for Peace and compassion worldwide,I would like to ask John whether he could use
his talent to write a song about fear.I would love to write this song myself, but I do not have time to go to my piano and write it myself.I have 4 young children to take dayly care of,and my piano is 200 km away from me.
But anyway I think it is a BIG issue in the world, concerns nearly everybody. If it is not possible?it is not a problem, just a kind question to you guys going back to the studio.
I whish you happiness and fun,and lots of love for all of you.

    Regards,
Anne (a bit yealous though! LOL)
